Caribbean iced coffee

A layered caribbean iced coffee mocktail made of coffee and ginger ale in a wine glas, garnished with coffee beans.

Are you looking for a non-alcoholic drink with fresh iced coffee and a little tropical tiki feeling, that’s also easyto make at home? Then you’ve come to the right place! Try this caribbean iced coffee, you’ll love it! ๐Ÿ™‚

The preparation for this mocktail is very simple and you don’t need many ingredients for it. Simply fire up your espresso maker after work and set your finished espresso aside to cool. In the meantime, pour ginger ale and falernum syrup into a glass and stir well. Add ice to the mixture. The espresso should now be slightly chilled. To get the same layering as in our picture, simply float the espresso slowly over the back of a spoon onto the drink. That’s it! Your caribbean iced coffee is finished and ready to be served.

If you want the taste of coffee to be less dominant, you can replace the ginger ale with ginger beer. This also gives the drink a certain spiciness in the aftertaste. The layering works there aswell. We really like this variation of the caribbean iced coffee!

If you are about to try this drink and the only question stopping you from mixing this is: “What in the world is falernum?” I can only recommend you take a look at our post of the Mai Tai with passion fruit. We lifted the mystery about falernum in that article, feel free to take a look. Another recipe you could try is the exotic Moscow Mule, which is also one of our favorites. ๐Ÿ™‚ With these two alternative recipes, you’ll have some more drinks with falernum (mind the alcohol though!) you could try. Let us know if you have tried a drink with falernum and if you liked it! We’d love to hear your opinions on it. ๐Ÿ™‚
